We do not plan on publishing them in conjunction with any ACM SIG but who knows what could pop up between now and then. We have had many requests that the proceedings or portions thereof be posted to a newsgroup (alt.cyberpunk.tech perhaps or ???.cyberspace if that happens most likely). Any suggestions on this or reasons for going the ACM route as well as submissions/comments/ suggestions would be appreciated. =erik ============================================================================= erik josowitz | University of Texas SOA | erik@vitruvius.ar.utexas.edu.UUCP ============================================================================= "run into the bedroom, in the suitcase on the bed you'll find my favorite axe" ---Pink Floyd =============================================================================

Proceedings are generally much too long to be posted to newsgroups, and I think trying to do this would upset a fair number of system administrators. Newsgroups are better-suited to the discussion of some of the more interesting articles. Since this topic is basically an advanced development of the object-oriented paradigm, I would think that the proceedings should be published in conjunction with SIGOBJ, an ACM SIG on the object-oriented paradigm which is presently in the works. For now, the object-oriented discussions are taking place under either the SIGPLAN (SIGPLAN => Special Interest Group on Programming Languages) banner (e.g., OOPSLA proceedings) or the SIGSOFT (Software Engineering) banner; discussions should be held with both of these SIGS if SIGOBJ doesn't get created in time.
