[comp.infosystems] Expert systems in business

I'm a business graduate planning to do some research in applications
of artificial intelligence and expert systems in business, particularly
marketing. If any of could make some suggestions on the scope, literature,
methods etc. with reference to this topic, it would be appreciated.

Moreover, I am interested in knowing how widely ES are used in companies
here in the US.
