COMPUTER SCIENCE FOR ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION
6th Symposium
December 4-6, 1991, Munich, Germany

Goals of the Conference
The main purpose of the symposium is to present and discuss the
international state-of-the-art-applications in computer science concerning
environmental protection. Research and development projects will be
presented, new trends will be derived, and future aspects will be
elaborated. The aims of the conference are the communication and exchange
of experiences between researchers, developers, and practitioners.
Papers are solicited (but not limited to) on the following topics:
* Applications Related to the Environment
Waste Management
Water Protection
Noise Abatement
Air Pollution
Measurement Networks
Environmental Impact Statement
Geographic Information Systems
Ecosystems Research
Applications for Local or Federal Authorities
* Computer Science Methods
Database Management Systems and Database Applications
Knowledge Base Systems
Modelling and Simulation
Visualization
Integration of Various Methods and Techniques
Distributed Systems
Papers that include statements on prospects, risks, consequences, and
limitations of the applied methods are of special interest.
Invited papers will be presented in addition to the contributed papers.
A panel discussion and an exhibition will complete the program.
Information for authors:
Contributors are invited to submit five copies of technical papers
presenting original results of their work not yet published. An extended
abstract of at least 2,000 words should arrive at the following address
no later than April 30, 1991:

Each submission should provide a cover page containing author(s), their
full addresses, telephone numbers and one ore more of the above keywords
to classify the paper.
Acceptance of submitted papers will be determined by the program
committee by June 14, 1991.
Camera-ready copies of papers should not exceed 12 pages and must
arrive by September 9, 1991. They will be published within the series
"Informatik-Fachberichte" ("Computer Science Technical Reports") by
Springer-Verlag. Conference participants will receive the proceedings at
the beginning of the symposium.
Presentations of papers should not exceed 30 minutes, including a
discussion. Conference languages are German and English. (English speaking
contributors should be aware that the majority of presentations will
be given in German.)

About six weeks ago I tried to put the following Call for Papers into the
above mentioned newsgroup, but it has not appeared there up to now.
(Maybe this happened, because I tried to restrict the distribution to
Europe.) About two weeks ago, I tried again, but I have not yet seen it in
the news. Excuse me, if someone gets this twice.
