[comp.infosystems] Capacity Planning

news@massey.ac.nz (USENET News System) (03/11/91)

I am trying to find literature on capacity planning. Most of the
articles/books that I have looked at deal with large centralised
systems but I need more information on the current state of the
art for distributed and small systems.

I am also interested in software that runs on a Mac or IBM PC that allows
management to model computer resource usage and to examine the impact
of different scenarios.

Any recommendations?

Thanks in advance,
Mike

I'm not sure that my last posting got out of NZ so I'll try again to
make sure .......

I am looking for up-to-date literature on capacity planning that deals
with distributed systems and networks, rather than large centralised
systems as most books/articles that I have found do.

I also am interested in software for capacity planning and/or
modeling computer resource usage.

If you can help me on either of the above, please drop me a line or
reply through this newsgroup. Thanks in advance....
