The First Annual AWSDA Seminar
August 21 - August 24, 1991
We are happy to announce the First Annual American
Women's Self Defense Association Seminar! This seminar will be
open to all active AWSDA members, (both male and female) as well
as female non-members and will be held Wednesday, August 21
(registration and welcoming) through Saturday, August 24 (ending
with a formal buffet dinner.) All AWSDA members are encouraged
to attend and share their expertise. The Radisson Hotel Islandia
in Hauppauge, NY will be the 1991 Seminar Location and the $79.00
room fee per night includes accommodations and a continental
breakfast; health club, indoor pool and nightly entertainment are
also available on the premises. (We recommend doubling or
tripling up on rooms to keep costs down. * Call AWSDA (see
below) if you need a roommate).
The seminar fee for AWSDA members is only $200.00 for
advance registration April 1 - May 31, or $225.00 for
registration up to Aug 20, 1991. There is a $35.00 surcharge for
non-members. This fee includes all training, both hands-on and
lectures, as well as Saturday night's concluding formal banquet.

get ready for an intense training experience. Because AWSDA is a
non-profit organization, all proceeds from the seminar will go
directly to AWSDA to help support our goals of educating the
public about rape prevention and female self defense.

volunteer basis and any assistance would be greatly appreciated!
-- ATTENTION INSTRUCTORS!!!! -- We are currently
accepting proposals from instructors interested in conducting
lectures or training blocks. Please submit your proposal, along
with course outline and a brief biography to AWSDA Headquarters,
Attention: Seminar Training Director. Don't forget to include
your contact address and phone number! Proposals are being
accepted now, the deadline is June 1st, 1991. (Seminar staff
instructors will not pay seminar fee, but will be responsible for
their own traveling and room expenses).
INSTRUCTOR COURSE - RAPE PREVENTION
Also, preceding the Seminar, scheduled for the 21st of
August is the Rape Prevention Instructor Seminar, held at Modern
Warrior in conjunction with AWSDA. The 8-10 hour course
(depending on the number of participants) will be free for AWSDA
members who will be attending the seminar only. You must register
in advance for this course and the number of participants will be
limited.
