Ten teachers, six women and four men, were chosen by NASA today as finalists out of a group of 100 vying for the chance to be the first private citizen in space. The ten, ranging in age from 35 to 45, will be flown to Houston on 12 July for a series of medical tests and a flight in a KC-135 plane to get their first taste of weightlessness. NASA will pick one teacher and a backup for the January, 1986, flight of the Challenger.
