[comp.os.os2] OS/2 1.2 Communications Manager

root@dialog.UUCP (Christian Motz) (11/11/89)

Phew! I just got 1.2 EE yesterday, and I installed it immediately, since
I have been using 1.2 SE with the 1.1 Communications Manager the last
couple of weeks. The first thing I noticed was that the installation
procedure is what could best be described as cryptic and chaotic, but
this is something that doesn't bother me.

To my surprise the Communications Manager was not a PM Application ?!
All I heard up to this point was that under 1.2, the CM would be a PM
application. It does have all the additional features though (as far
as I can tell after playing with it for 3 hours or so), like Ethernet
and X.25-Support. What I haven't seen yet is the so-called "Gateway
Feature". Could someone shed some light on this? Oh yes, and one more
thing: ACSTRSYS.EXE comes up with "Cannot find ACSLAN." (no extension).
Anything I overlooked? Or is it broken? Thanks in advance,
