UPI: Cape Canaveral, July 7. - The Cola war is heading for space as NASA is planning the stock the space shuttle Challenger with both Coke and Pepsi for tits week long mission that begins Friday. However, the competition will focus not on the taste but on the ability of their specially made containers to withstand the conditions of weightlessness. Carbonated beverages have not previously been carried on Shuttles, because no container was available that could dispense soda in 0 g. The Coke can cost $250,000 to design and looks like a regular 12-oz can with a special top that includes a drinking spout and valve switch. The liquid is dispensed by a lever that works like a plunger. Pepsi's container (cost not disclosed) also uses a standard size can with a dispensing valve on top. -- Craig Werner !philabs!aecom!werner "The world is just a straight man for you sometimes"
