I can't get os/2 1.10 to install on my AT. Can somebody out there give me some help. I get the following message when I booted up from the installation disk of ibm os/2 1.10 : "Sys1518: The system can not find the file a:\country.sys. The system is stopped. ...". The file in question country.sys is indeed located on the installation disk as I checked under dos. And I was able to install it on another computer. My system has the following configuration : 10mhz AT from bus computer with pheonix bios 3.07(4/14/1987), 4meg ram + 4 meg expanded. orchid designer vga, and hercules, 2 seagate st251, one 1.2meg and one 360k floppy drives, WD 1003- wa2 rev. "x8" H/F controller. I have also tried to replace the WD controller with a Perster 180-16FN H/F contoller which gave me 150 meg bytes and seems to work ok for dos at the moment. But when I tried to install os/2 1.10, I got the same message: " Sys1518: The system can not find the file a:\contry.sys .....". I remember a year ago, I tried install os/2 1.0 using the WD controller, and I was able to finish the installation. But I have since deinstalled it because I did not have enough memory to do anything useful with it. What's going on with the os/2 installation program? Why does the installation program can not find country.sys in the a:\ directory? Is the error message a smoke screen for something else that went wrong? Any hints or conjectures are greatly appreciated!! kuo@oregon.uoregon.edu
