A number of people from Usenet have asked me how they can get the files listed as available for Fidonet. (the "F'Req or File Requestable files). The brute force way is to simply call the BBS with your modem and download the files directly. The BBS number is usually posted in the message. For example, the number for my BBS is (306) 966-4857, and you can call at eight data bits, one stop bit, no parity, 300, 1200, or 2400 baud. FIDONET USERS: I have taken most of the stuff available in COMP.OS.OS2 and made it available for first time download and F'Req from my BBS (1:140/43). I will continue to do this even if we decide to axe the gateway. Usenet Users: Once the COMP.BINARIES.OS2 newsgroup has been created, I will gladdly submit files from my BBS (and others). I will also attempt to submit the better programs to Simtel 20 (I don't have FTP access, but I do have Bitnet access, and apparantly there is a way to access FTP through some bitnet gateways). Please send me mail and tell me what files you are interested in and I will see what I can do: Kevin Lowey @ 1:140/43 LOWEY@SASK.USASK.CA LOWEY@DVINCI.UUCP -- Kevin "gatekeeper" Lowey
