There are some files created in LL> \SPOOL. There are a number of different reasons why you might run into a problem like this, and an error in CONFIG.SYS is probably the least likely. Much more likely is an error in your Print Manager setup, though the default configuration (as installed) assumes an IBM Proprinter attached to LPT1. You don't mention what hardware you are running - some older parallel ports don't provide the necessary interrupt lines for OS/2 to properly use the port. Coincidentally, I attached a Proprinter to a 1.2 machine just yesterday. The machine was an old AT, with a new Idea I/O board installed. I made no changes whatsoever to the default installation of the Print Manager, and the printer worked with no problems. -- Jim Gilliland - via FidoNet node 1:140/22 UUCP: alberta!dvinci!weyr!141!209.3!Jim.Gilliland Internet: Jim.Gilliland@p3.f209.n141.z1.FIDONET.ORG Standard Disclaimers Apply...

LL> Does anyone know what the correct line is, to setup a IBM ProPrinter in the config.sys in OS/2 1.2. I don't think you need a line in the config.sys. The use of the Control Panel and Print Manager should handle all of it. LL> I have setup according to manual, but it seems to lock up every time I print. There are some files created in \SPOOL. Even though, OS/2 1.2 was suppose to work with many printers, Many of the drivers where a bit broken. They would fail with the concurent use of the print spooler. The same results, you are seeing. The temperary solution is to turn off the spooler. The CSD, (we are all waiting for), is suppose to include corrected print drivers. Case in point is the Epson driver. Many have gotten the coorected one though other sources, and it works fine with the spooler. Now I can't say that the ProPrinter driver, does not work with the spooler. But you might check with IBM, or the IBM NSC, to see what they say. -- Kenneth Neal - via FidoNet node 1:140/22 UUCP: alberta!dvinci!weyr!157!512!Kenneth.Neal Internet: Kenneth.Neal@f512.n157.z1.FIDONET.ORG Standard Disclaimers Apply...
