Hi all. This is my first posting to the os2 group but please bear with
me.
It appears that I might be moving to an OS/2 system (i.e. brand new)
and I would like to get some information first or hints on where to go
for information. I currently run DOS 3.1 on a Zenith 241 AT (6Mhz).
Due to visual difficulties I find that at a minimum I need to get a
very high resolution, large monitor (i.e min 1024 by 768 and 19" or
20"). One of the potential solutions is to move completely over to
OS/2 and PM aon a 386 for the price that I have to shell out for just a
new monitor and video card. Estimates are in the $5K to $6K for jus
the monitor and card. I think that for a bit more I could move to OS/2
on a 386 and have at least a 1024 by 768 monitor and card as part of
the whole system.
Problem! I know absolutely nothing about OS/2 or PM and need to read up
on this. The critical problem is to solve my visual acuity problem
with larger and cleaner (crisper) display. Would a move to OS/2
provide any potential relief for this difficulty? Does OS/2 etc
support large high res colour monitors?
Thanks all for your time. Any responses are greatly appreciated.
