Does anyone have a COMxx.sys that runs on non-PS/2 systems and lets OS/2 "see" COM3 and COM4 ? or Can anyone give me an idea on how to use an internal modem with COM3 under OS/2 ? (it works with TELIX in the DOS box). With ref to article 964 (looking for DOS BOX incompatable programs), I have one which dials the National Research Counsil Atomeic CLock and synchs the computer time to it. It dials OK but can't recognize the carrier. Since I don't have the source code I'm not sure what its looking for (perhaps a carrier detect signal on the com port that OS/2 is not letting by). Anyone have any ideas? One last observation. My version of OS/2 1.2 is dated 8-31-89, at random times for no known reason (on boot up, opening the file manager, compiling under MASM etc...) my system hangs and either has to be cold booted or warm booted (depends on the nothing, sometimes the keyboard is locked preventing CTRL-ALT-DEL sometimes its not) The hang up is not repeatable. IF I reboot and do exactly what I did before the failure....it doesn't fail (sometimes it will much later.) My system is a 10Mhz 80286, 40MB Miniscribe 3053, 4Mb memory,ATI VGA Wonder, Award Bios, Western Digital HD/FD controller, Zuker Modem, Logitech HiREZ Serial Mouse. Has anyone else experienced similar problems? I'm upgrading to a 20MHZ 386 with an AMI bios.....will my trouble go away? I like OS/2 but this is really frustrating. Ajai.
