I posted a message regarding this problem a few weeks ago and it either didn't make it to the net or it was too stupid a question to merit a response. I hope it's the former. I'm having problems printing from Compaq OS/2 1.1 rev B. I'm using an Epson LQ-850 and have not been able to get so much as a line feed from the printer. I've tried using both IBMNULL and IBM4201 printer drivers with the same results; shortly after sending the print job to the spooler I receive an error telling me that my printer is not on (exact error number forgotton). I've tried disabling the spooler altogether with no luck. I know the printer driver is responsible for initializing the printer; does this mean I need the correct Epson driver to get any output at all?? If so, will the IBM 1.2 version of OS/2 printer drivers work with Compaq 1.1 ?? Compaq tells me they hope to ship their version of 1.2 in the second quarter; in the meantime I have an operating system incapable of printing. Any help would be appreciated. craig P.S. Of course everything works fine if I boot DOS. -- Disclaimer: My opinions are mine and Craig Bennett mine alone (who else would Locus Computing Corp. want them?) Mail > craig@locus.com

I am 90% sure that rev B works also. I recommend that you check that OS/2 is installed correctly and your hardware is working. If that does not solve the problem, send in for your free upgrade to rev C. good luck
