[net.music] Blue Oyster Cult words

jow@unccvax.UUCP (Jim Wiley) (08/02/85)

Does anyone know where I can get words to Blue Oyster Cult songs.
Some of the words are really hard to make especially when you consider
that the probably don't make a whole lot of sense to start with. I
Would like words from the first 4 or 5 albums.

Halloo Jim,

IF you'll look closely at the covers of the first few albums, you'll
notice it says (somewhere) (paraphrased) 'Send $ .50 & a SASE to this
address (Setauket, NY) for lyrics'. I KNOW it's on 'Tyranny and Mutation',
and also on 'Some Enchanted Evening', I believe. It used to work, for I
sent off a couple of times to get them.

One thing tho: I can't find the lyrics to 'Last Days of May' anywhere.
Any ideas anybody?

Let me know by e-mail if you can't work something out - I may have the
lyrics around someplace ...

I tried to mail you a reply, Jim, but somehow your uucp address didn't
work here. In any case, on the inner sleeves of my copies of "Tyranny
and Mutation" and "Secret Treaties" (BOC's second and third albums, I
believe) it says

For all cult lyrics send self-addressed stamped envelope to

	Room 1208
	51 W 52 St.
	New York, NY 10019

These albums were made a little over ten years ago, so it's hard to say
whether this address is still good, but I'd give it a try. Good luck.

I'm taking this directly off the Blue Oyster Cult album "Some Enchanted
Evening"

Qoute:

"For all Cult lyrics send: 50c[ents] (For Postage and Handling) and a
self-adressed envelope to: Blue Oyster Cult, P.O. Box 828, Setauket, L.I.,
N.Y. 11733. Due to expenses, lyric requests lacking postage and envelopes
will not be honored"

Unqoute.

As you can see this does say "all Cult lyrics" so my guess it that it not
only confined to the tracks on the abve mentioned album. Good Luck!

Hmmmmmmm !!!! That's interesting! Were the albums PURCHASED 10 years
ago, or more recently? I have copies of their first 5 or 6 albums, and
started buying them about 8 years ago. The address in mine is different -
specifically (I don't have them in front of me, but it's close) the city.
In mine, the destination is Setauket, NY. I sent off twice to this
address and received lyrics both times. Of course, this was > 5 years
ago, so it LOOKS LIKE the address has changed, and you have the re-released
albums with the address change. What year did you buy the albums? What
does the inner sleeve of 'Secret Treaties' look like?
