From what I've seen on this newsgroup, the OS/2 VIO services will go away, apparently in OS/2 2.0, and we are to do all screen i/o through the Presentation manager. Now, if this is really true, doesn't this mean that we'll have to get PM versions of vi and Emacs for editing our programs? Or is there going to be a tty interface with ANSI support, in which case we'll be just doing the terminal i/o the way it's done on UNIX already? I would certainly hope for there to be *some* way of writing full-screen text-mode programs for 2.0. Along the same lines, does anyone know of a Curses package that has been ported to OS/2 1.x? I have PC Curses, but I don't relish the idea of converting it to run on OS/2.
