[comp.os.os2] OS/2 Tools

jarmolow@samsung.com (Tom Jarmolowski) (07/04/90)

We MAY be developing a large networked application under
OS/2 extended edition and PM. I have no OS/2 experience.
Can anyone recomend what tools we should buy ?

Debuggers, C compilers, Manuals etc ?

					Thanks

Begin with the OS/2 SDK and a copy of Charles Petzold's book
Programming the OS/2 Presentation Manager.

This will prove to be an eye-opening experience.

As to further, more sophisticated tools, there are many on the
market and more appearing every day, (I know, we have been looking
at them for quite some time). You will need to evaluate the
tool based upon what you are doing as different tools have different
strengths. I would suggest looking at some of the object-oriented
tools such as Smalltalk/PM or Object/1.
