Sorry if this is redundant, but I just subscribed a couple of days ago. We're running an IBM Token Ring network, around 50 stations of mixed DOS and OS/2 character. IBM Token adapter card, 16 MBit/sec. OS/2 1.2 EE (IBM Operating System Two Extended Edition, as the manuals are fond of saying). OS/2 for most machines, DOS and PC Lan support/Dos requester for the others. Here's what we need to do: connect to a dedicated T1 backbone through a Cisco box to the wide wonderful world of the Internet. I think some sort of translation is appropriate, as opposed to encapsulation or tunnelling; my partner in crime is the real hardware expert. So far, all I've been able to dig up is NCSA; if you have any other suggestions for software and/or hardware that could give us FTP and Telnet capabilities, I would apprecieate your assistance. If anyone is interested in sharing info, and so forth, (i.e., gossiping), please don't hesitate to call me. We've done pretty well so far, so if any of you are just getting into OS/2, I'd be happy to share notes, etc. Phil Tracy Northwestern University dweeb@norby.acns.nwu.edu (312) 908-1536
