[comp.sys.mac.hardware] Help re MacRecorder Hardware

arun@ac.dal.ca (11/06/89)

Well, a friend of mine has a Mac II with Farallons MacRecorder hardware
and software. He was interested in doing some realtime stereo recordings
but when he called Farallon to see about purchasing a second hardware
module(the actual A to D converter) they said that they cannot, and
they will not tell him the chip used in it or how it is implemented
on the printer port. Does anyone have any info on how the MacRecorder
harware module works regarding its A to D chip, what lines are used
for power, clocking data, chip select, data, etc, because Farallon
told him for stereo recording he will have to go out and purchase the
entire package for several hundred dollars even though he is a registered
owner. If anyone has any technical info on the hardware or its interfacing
to the Mac could they please drop me a line...Thanks...
