[comp.sys.mac.hardware] Appropriate newsgroup?

I have a friend with a Mac-specific piece of hardware for sale.  I've seen a
variety of net.flames with regard to posting such info in newsgroups such as
this one.  Could/would someone please explain the (in)appropriateness of the
post I'd like to make for him?  Thanks.

I'll remain connected to this newsgroup for a few day's worth of feedback.
