We are urgently looking for a 2400 Hayes _fully_ compatible modem -- the least expensive, but adequately reliable one: for use on Mac SE, SE/20 (with internal 20 MB drive), or the SE/30 or IIcx [last 2 options for use in the future only]. We have a Supra 2400 already, and it seems to have been performing very well -- never have any problem for almost 1 1/2 years of purchase -- and thus apparently have proved to one of the only inexpensively reliable one. Are they still so good? Are they still so inexpensive: $129.00 (Programs Plus)? $145 (Mac Zone)? $139 (MacWarehouse)? What about SmartOne 2400: $145 (Programs Plus): w/software & cable -- special? $145 (Mac Zone): uncertain w/software & cable? $179 (Mac Zone): w/Red Ryder; uncertain w/cable? $145 (MacWarehouse)? MacTech 2400: $139 (Mac Zone)? MacTech 2400M ***** what the difference? ***** $245 ((Mac Zone)? And some other slightly more expensive brands: Practical Peripherals (Macintosh Communicatins Pack 1.5) 2400: $225 (MacConnection)? MacPac 2400E: $179 (Programs Plus): w/software & cable? CMS 2400BMX: $179 (Programs Plus)? Practical Modem 2400SA: $179 (Programs Plus)? $225 (Programs Plus): w/Microphone & Cable? Any suggestion is welcomed! Thanks! ***** Pls. also reply directly.
