[comp.sys.mac.hardware] Best IIci SIMMs

jmm@skivs.UUCP (Joel M. Miller) (11/10/89)

I already know that I want 80 nsec, parity (ie, 9 bits/byte) SIMMs. But
is there some additional spec: "fast page mode", or something like that?
What I want is the fastest, most reliable memory system available.

Yes, you need to use 80ns FAST PAGE MODE SIMMs. One further caveat on using
parity (once the systems become available): all of your SIMMs must be parity
SIMMs, or parity will be disabled. I.e. if you have 7 parity SIMMs and one
non-parity SIMM, your system will turn off parity checking (plus you'll get
a dialog from the system each time you boot telling you that parity's disabled
).
