I have a (possibly ignorant) question concerning the Super Mac ColorCard I have in my IIcx. Let me first state that I am not very knowledgable about video standards, monitors, cabling, and such. I would like to take my IIcx on a trip with me, but there will be no standard computer monitor where I am going, and I would like to avoid having to take my monitor along. According to the manual that came with the ColorCard, it can drive non-Apple monitors with the addition of an oscillator to a slot on the card. What I would like to be able to do is hook the Mac to a color TV, even though I expect the picture to be pretty bad. According to the documentation, it is possible to add "the appropriate oscillator and an NTSC encoder". The manual goes on to say that the result is not brodcast quality, but I can live with that. It also says that presently no thrid party is set up to sell the package above. What I would like to know is: . Is what I want to do possible? . Can I do it for a reasonable (meaning small) price? . If I can do this, what do I need to buy? If anyone has tried this, I would really like to hear from you. I have had nothing but good experience with the Super Mac 8-bit card so far. I bought it in part for its flexibility, so I hope that it will pay-off now. Respond by e-mail, unless you think others in the group are interested. Thanks in advance everyone! ~~~~~~~~~~ Joe Brownlee, Global Information Systems Technology, Inc. ~~~~~~~~~~ 1800 Woodfield Drive, Savoy, Illinois 61874 (217) 352-1165 E-mail: joe@gistdev.UUCP <or> {uunet, uiucuxc}!gistdev!joe The best diplomat I know is a fully activated phaser bank. -- Montgomery Scott Go ahead.
