[comp.sys.mac.hardware] IIci Parity System

jmm@skivs.UUCP (Joel M. Miller) (11/15/89)

Is there a special IIci box needed, or can parity SIMMs usefully be put in
to any IIci box? (I know that *all* SIMMs must be parity SIMMs if parity
is to be enabled).

You must specifically order a parity system. You not only need parity
memory, but also the parity generating/checking hardware. Parity (9-bit)
SIMMs will work on the regular IIci, but parity will not be generated or
checked.
