I am in the market for buying an internal drive for my SE. At this moment, I am trying to decide among Quantum Pro 40, Seagate ST-157 and ST-177. Questions are: 1. After the Quantum/Apple fiasco, is a Quantum worth to buy at all? In the past, I have heard many, many times how good Quantum drives are, but after the problems with IIcx, I am little bit reserved. Is my worry unfounded? 2. If I don't go for Quantum, I would go for a Seagate. Since it is cheaper than Quantum, I am even thinking of 65 mb ST-177, but if I cannot finance it, I will have to go for ST-157. Anyway, how are these drives? Other than the fact that both of them are 3.5 inch drives, I don't know much about these drives. More specifically, I would like to know the access time (28 ms or 40 ms?), mean failure time, and most importantly, reliability. 3. How about 5.25 lines from Seagate? I am afraid that I don't know the names, though. Can they fit in the upper disk bracket in a SE? (I have a SE with a 20 meg internal, so I would rather fit the new one where the old one was.) I know it is impossible to fit a 5.25 HD to a SE/30, but is it true for a SE, too? Thanks in advance, Chang -- Chang P.
