Does anyone know how the shuttle is controlled from Germany? Some questions that comes to mind are: 1. Is everything controlled from Germany or is Houston still the controlling site while Germany simply orchestrates the mission. 2. How long did it take to make the political, technical, security arrangements to control the mission from someplace other than Houston? Also regarding TV transmission I was wondering how many poeple have been able to get their local cable TV company to receive shuttle transmissions and pipe them into your home? Can the run-of-the-mill cable tv company use the information posted here or would it involve them buying more equipment (which they probably wouldn't do)? How many readers live in Arlington, Mass? If you do and are interested in getting the cable folks to do something for us please let them know and let me know.
