[comp.sys.mac.hardware] Help connecting two SCSI drives.

Scott.Swenson@f54.n382.z1.FIDONET.ORG (Scott Swenson) (12/05/89)

I'm trying to daisy chain two Jasmine DirectDrive 20s to my Plus. Each
drive will boot. Each drive can be daisy chained to an external HD 40 on
my friends Mac II and boot there. On my Plus, however, I can't boot of
either when they are daisy chained together via a SCSI peripheral
connector. (The cable has been tested on the Mac II/HD 40, so it's not
the problem.)
Per Jasmine's manual, both drives should be terminated, which they are.
I've tried various combinations of SCSI IDs and have even removed one of
the terminators (3 resistors), but nothing works.
Strangely, both drives will mount if I boot off a floppy. I just can't
boot from either hard disk when both are connected. ANY ADVICE???
P.S. JASMINE & THE DEALER HAVE BEEN NO HELP. I'VE CALLED JASMINE SEVERAL
TIMES IN TWO WEEKS AND THEY HAVE NEVER RETURNED MY CALLS!
THANKS. SCOTT SWENSON
