[comp.sys.mac.hardware] 8-bit or 24-bit colour cards for IIcx?

jtn@zodiac.ADS.COM (John Nelson) (12/09/89)

I'm seriously thinking of buying a Mac IIcx. One person on the net
recommended that I go with the 24-bit colour cards for 13" Apple
monitors because they were only $200-$300 more than the usual Apple
card and you get 24-bits in the deal!

I imagine that the 24-bit cards might speed up colour operations a bit
too due to some kind of on-board processing?

Question: What are the "good" brands that won't be too much more
expensive than the Apple colour card (8-bit) and what are the
performance hits if any?

Thanks!
