[comp.sys.mac.hardware] NetSerial + DeskWriter = OK?

truesdel@ics.uci.edu (Scott Truesdell) (12/28/89)

Has anyone had experiance hooking a Hewlett Packard DeskWriter through
a Shive NetSerial for shared use on a network? Can it be done, Does
it work? Are there any problems?

I can't see why it wouldn't work, but things aren't always as
straightforward as they seem...

No, you cannot use a Deskwriter with a NetSerial because Deskwriters run at
57.6 Kbaud, while the NetSerial only runs at speeds up to 19.2 Kbaud.
