[comp.sys.mac.hardware] More IIci questions

) (01/03/90)

Hi,

I just noticed that my system has gotten smaller under Mac IIci than it was
under my old MacII! I cloned my system disk to the 2ci, then rebooted. Finder
shows my system space is about 300k smaller!!!

Is this due to less ROM patches? If so, what has been put in ROM that used to
be patched in RAM?

I heard that 32-bit QD is now in ROM, if so, why doesn't the old 32-bit QD file
show a multicolor ICON like it does under the patched 32-bit QD?

BTW, On a IIci, you can now set the CDROM drive as a startup device! Although
I do not have any bootable CDROM disks. During boot, sure enough it looked at
the CDROM to see if it was a bootable disk, when it wasn't, it ejected it and
looked at the rest of my SCSI chain...Kinda neat!
