[comp.sys.mac.hardware] SCSI upgrades for old Macs

rte@cbnewsi.ATT.COM (ralph.t.edwards) (01/13/90)

Three years ago I upgraded a Mac 128 to a quasi-plus with among other
things a Supermac 1 Meg memory upgrade, the catch is, no SCSI.
I also upgraded the ROM and the internal floppy drive.
The question is, can I now add a SCSI?
I see adds for SCSI add-ons (Dove and Magic) but are they consistent
with the Supermac upgrade?
SuperMac people think so, but....
I'd appreciate info on:

1. Do the Dove and Magic upgrades work? Which is best?
   Are there others (SuperMac no longer makes one)?

2. Which are compatible with the Supermac 1 Meg upgrade kit;

3 and just how different from an Apple upgrade is the Supermac?

Please indicate how sure of the answer to 2 you are.
(Testimonials from Supermac upgrade owners are especially interesting.)
I prefer mail answers, but I'll read the newsgroups for a while.
