I recently was using an Everex EMAC hard drive, and the formatting and partitioning software that went with it on a new external drive I had on loan. Anyways, I cleaned up my Mac internal 20 meg that came with the machine, and reformatted it with the EMAC disk manager software. My feeling was that it wasn't going to work. The software didn't recognize the original driver on the internal. But not only did it work, it formatted my drive to hold 20.5 megs, as opposed to the original Apple formatting which gave me only 19.1 megs to use on the 20 meg hard disk <which had really pissed me off>. My question is: Why do Apple internals <I know, they aren't REALLY Apple, but you know what I mean> that are supposed to be 20 megs come formatted at 19.1 megs, and why did reformatting it with someone elses software and driver yield so much more space? And is it safe like this? It seems to work just fine, and the extra room is more than welcome... E-mail replies please, and will post summary of replies... Judy
