For a Jasmine DD20 using a Seagate ST225N drive; is it possible to merely replace it with their ST296N (insofar as the hardware is concerned, I imagine that some drive utility software may be required.) Besides the Seagate are there other drives that could be considered as "drop-in" replacement? Has any particular drive software been found to be better in this type of action? Regarding stuff on Replacing Drive mechanism in Jasmine... I have found that Jasmine drives have important drive information written to 'secret' sectors which preclude mixing of their formatting software with other drives (even the same model). I imagine however (though never been attempted) that a low level disk manager like SF&I could duplicate those sectors. I'll have to give it a go one of these days. oo oo oo oo oo oo oo oo oo oo oo oo oo oo oo oo oo oo oo oo oo oo oo oo oo oo o COLIN ONG Dept.
