Hello comp.sys.mac'ers; I am positing this in hopes of using the net and the peoples experience to help me make my choice. I am currently looking for an 80, 100, or even 200 MB internal hard dirve to a MacIIcx. I have seen lots of ads for Cutting Edge, Jasmine, etc. I am intrested if anyone can help me find the right drive with the right price. I have seen prices range from $650 - $1500 for the 80 MB, and $800 - $1600 for 100 MB, the $1000 - $2500 for the 200 MB. All the dirves I have seen use Seagate, Quantum, or Conner. I am most intrested in the Conner on since I have never heard of them myself. I am also intrested in anyones info on where they got thier dirve and the kind of response and service they received. Price and warrenty are a very large factor in the kind of drive that I am looking for. My current choice is the new ad I have seen in the February 1990 issue of MacWeek. I read thier artical on the hard dirves and will also ask the same kind of question for information on the dirves. The ad was for Hard Disk International 1-800-733-DISK (3475), where they are advertizing a Quantum 80 MB for $684, Quantum 105 MB for $799, and the winner a Conner 200 MB for $996. Like I said I am most intrested in the 200 MB version since this is the best price I have seen. I am also looking for 15-18ms access time with 9000-11,200 kilobits transfer rate, cooling fan that is quite, etc. Please response with e-mail, and I will post summary to the net. Thanks much in advance. Criag -- Macs are the furture.
