[comp.sys.mac.hardware] Midi for Mac wanted

dansnsr@nmtsun.nmt.edu (Daniel A. Church) (01/18/90)

I have just come across a few Keyboards and other various MIDI items and
was wondering if anyone had any kind of MIDI box for a MAC SE/30 for sale?
I don't need something too big and expensive, just something to get by
with perhaps two keyboards and a drum machine. Does anyone have any good
recommendations as to what kind I should buy? (Passport?, Roland?)

Thanks in advance,

For simple requirements, I would recommend the Altech 1-in, 3-out MIDI
interface, available from Mac Warehouse for $59. Comes with all
required cables and a floppy with Public Domain MIDI software.

I bought one and have had zero problems. It gets its power from the
Mac serial port (just like Apple's interface). Most of the rest
require an external supply, and my power strip is out of plugs.

Altech also sells a 2-in, 6-out interface that plugs into the wall
  socket for power.
