[comp.sys.mac.hardware] Ethernet and a big screen on an SE/30

dce@smsc.sony.com (David Elliott) (01/19/90)

I have an SE/30 with an Ethernet card. At some point in the
future, I would like to add a larger screen.

What's the best way to go about this?

As far as I know, my only choice is to get a SCSI Ethernet
unit. Do these work invisibly with AppleTalk?

I guess the best idea might be to trade up to a IIci or
whatever Apple is selling next year.

They work fine (I've used the Adaptec Nodem and Dove FastNet SCSI), but
they will be slower that a PDS Ethernet board in some conditions.
Still better than LocalTalk, though.

You can also put a NuBus expansion chassis on an SE/30 and add boards
to your heart's content.
