[net.columbia] NASA can't get it up - Cloud Cover a Problem?

Quite true, but the problem is they can't see the runway at the launch site
once they get above those clouds.  In case there is a need for a return-to-
launch-site (RTLS) abort, a trickly maneuver to say the least, NASA rules
require "good visibility" before a shuttle can be launched.  This rule can
be (and has been) stretched a bit at times.
