Thank you for your responses so far. It looks like I will not be able to use my HP LASERJET with my MAC Now if I purchase an Apple Laser Printer can other non-Mac users use that laser printer? Once again I will forward replies back to NET > >I am interested in purchasing a MAC IIcx and would like >to tie it into my existing laserjet which is also connected to >a remote ATT 3B computer. > >Can I get a board in the Mac to work with the LaserJet >will there be any problems? > >Is an AB switch the only other solution to the Multiple hosts >on a single Laser printer? > > >PLease send mail to me I will forward this >back to the NET in a Summary Form. > >Steve Parowski Steve, Could you please tell me what you find out? I am having a similar problem, see "token ring troubles". I will mail you what I have found out later, you might want to check out MacLan Connect from Miramar. I think this is similar to Carbon Copy but I am not shure yet. Alex Jauch UCI, AdCom ajauch@bonnie.ics.uci.edu I think Hewlett Packard makes some kind of attachment for the printer, not the Mac, that will let them communicate. However, the LaserJet, not being a postscript machine, will not print in anything but the standard block-format font for the Mac; no graphics or special font changes. Other companies may make more elegant solutions, but I don't know of any. Erik adams.e@oxy.edu
