[comp.sys.mac.hardware] MAC and HP Laser Jet

scp@bpa.BELL-ATL.COM (Steve Parowski) (02/01/90)

Thank you for your responses so far. It looks like
I will not be able to use my HP LASERJET with my MAC

Now if I purchase an Apple Laser Printer can other
non-Mac users use that laser printer?

Once again I will forward replies back to NET

Steve,

Could you please tell me what you find out? I am having a similar problem,
see "token ring troubles".

I will mail you what I have found out later, you might want to check out
MacLan Connect from Miramar. I think this is similar to Carbon Copy but
I am not shure yet.

I think Hewlett Packard makes some kind of attachment for the printer,
not the Mac, that will let them communicate. However, the LaserJet, not
being a postscript machine, will not print in anything but the standard
block-format font for the Mac; no graphics or special font changes.
Other companies may make more elegant solutions, but I don't know of any.
