[comp.sys.mac.hardware] 40-45MB Removable Disk Drives

johnsone@uxh.cso.uiuc.edu (02/03/90)

I have and SE/30 and am thinking about purchasing a "removable" drive in the
very near future and was looking for some advice from anyone who has one or has
used one.

Some of the drives that I have seen advertised (MacWorld, etc.) are

     Dolphin Systems: Flipper 44MB
     Cutting Edge: 44MB Removable
     CMS: Enhancements 44MB
     Mirror Tech.: RM42 Removable
Peripheral Land: Infinity 40 Turbo Removable
     Ehman: 45MB removable
     Iomega: Bernoulli 44MB removable

Any comments about these and others I didn't mention would be greatly
appreciated, especially about how they have held up (both good and bad
comments), how they compare in speed to "normal" hard drives, approx
price (of drive and also of the disks). I know that some of these use
the SyQuest as the machine; is that true of all of them?

Please e-mail and I will post a summary. Thanks much.
