[comp.sys.mac.hardware] What to cut?

alex@grian.cps.altadena.ca.us (Alex Pournelle) (02/06/90)

OK, now that I have my internal Mac Plus disk drive back--and have lost
the connector cable--somebody please tell me which lines to cut on an SE
ribbon so I can use it instead!

I've been sur5ing on a Fujitsu external floppy drive, which I heartily
recommend. It's got (1) an access light (b) a *real* eject button (iii)
quiet operation (4) an 18-month warranty. And it's cheap!

	Buy American when I can,
		Alex

Counting the wires on the ribbon cable, start with the end that has the colored
stripe on it and call that wire #1. Then cut #9 and #20.
If you are not sure what end to start with, look on the connectors for a
small arrow. That should signify pin #1.
