I'm looking for a hard drive for my Mac. I've got a 512KE upgraded with a MacRescue so now I've got 2M of RAM and a new SCSI port. I'm looking for a reliable drive that isn't too noisy, has good backup and recovery software, and doesn't cost a fortune. Password protection isn't needed and it doesn't have to real fast (It's only a MacPlus, you know :-). I think it should be around 40 meg, because I don't really want to have to back up any more than that to floppies. I would really like to stay under $600. I've looked at the February issue of MacUser, and they give the following drives 4.5 or more mice: GCC UltraDrive 30 SuperMac DataFrame XP30 Apple Disk 40SC Heart HD 1040 Jasmine DirectDrive 40 LaCie Cirrus 42 Maxcess 40E Microtech Nova 40 Optimal Optima 40 Storage Dimensions MacinStor 45 ZFP SuperMac DataFrame XP60 Any experiences you've had with the above would be helpful. Also, good sources for them would help too. One more thing; I plan to get an HP DeskWriter soon too. Thanks. owen_d_beckley@att.com
