References: Sender: Reply-To: vc253ah@unmc.UUCP () Followup-To: Distribution: Organization: University of New Mexico, Albuquerque Keywords: As you probably know, today, Tuesday, January 28th, 1986, at T-plus 00:01:12, into space shuttle mission 51-L, (The Challenger), the shuttle, its external fuel tank and the SRB's (solid rocket boosters), exploded in an unknown (as of now, 3:36, EST), cause. It is feared that all 7 members of the misson, including the first private citizen to launch, school teacher Christy McChulloch (sp?), did die in the explosion. Pieces of the shuttls and components fell for over an hour in a wide area approximately 18 from the launch site. This is a great tradgey for everybody. Mine, and I'm sure everybody who reads this group sympathizes with the families and friends of the crew members of Challenger. RCR(vc253ah)
