It has taken me two days to be able to write. We here at Bell Labs at Whippany are especially sad about the Challenger. Our young co-worker lost her cousin, Christa in the explosion. She, Kerry, had been in Florida waiting for the launch, but after all the delays, had to return to work Tuesday a.m. She was in a classroom when she heard the announcement over the PA system. Not the best way to hear of the demise of a loved one. Our hearts go out to her, and to all the relatives of each of the heroic crew. We, here in our department, have not heard how Terry Hart reacted to the news. Terry is a supervisor in our division. I would imagine he was devastated, having been a part of the shuttle program. Kerry's comment was, after recovering her composure, that she sincerely hoped this would NOT be the end of the manned shuttle program. What else is there to say? The crew WILL be remembered. And I also recommend the name of this group be changed to net.challenger in their memory. -- ======= ==----===== Arden M.
