Some time back (a couple weeks ago, I think) there was a discussion of the Syquest removables and the fact that one can not boot up the Mac if the Syquest was not already booted due to the fact that the SCSI terminator in the Syquest needed power to terminate (that is unless the necessary hardware mod's were made to the Syquest). Well, my question is, Is there any problem with turning the Syquest off after the Mac is all boot'ed up? Erik A. It doesn't work on my machine. After turing off the Syquest drive, my
internal SCSI disk does not respond (the MAC hangs waiting for disk I/O)
until I turn it back on again.

I have a DPI removable that has just been upgraded to the new Syquest mechanism (20ms access time). I can boot my machine with the drive shut off. Happily, it also appears to no longer have internal termination. I don't know if this would apply to other drives.
