I have seen a few messages about the Connor 200 meg drive. Because of the amazing (under $1000) price, I was considering one. After reading this month's issue of Computer Shopper (March), I think I'm going to drop the idea of one. Under the specifications, it lists the MTBF of the 200 for only 20,000 hrs. and the 100 (also relatively cheap) for only 30,000 hrs. Considering the average drive has a MTBF goes for 50,000 to 70,000 hrs., it might not be cost effective in the long run - and who knows, maybe you might get a few more glitches or errors early down the line. If you're interested in keeping up with the specs of most of the HD out there, the March issue of Comp. Shopper gives a lot of good info. (just make sure you concentrate on the SCSI HD section) Kent Leung Internet: watermaa@boulder.colorado.edu (posted c/o A. Waterman)
