Of course, I might add that people should know that if ANY COMPONENT FAILS IN A MACHINE YOU BUY FROM APPLE, OR HAVE UNDER APPLECARE, BE PREPARED TO SHLEP THE WHOLE MACHINE (no, you can't just disassemble the machine and bring the part, you gotta shlep the WHOLE MACHINE) BACK TO YOUR APPLE DEALER. And put up with whatever service procedures your Apple dealer may have instituted, which may include a "2 weeks to the bench, then we'll know what board(s) we'll have to order from Cupertino" deal. Got that? I think your slamming of Maya for this practice is unfair and ill thought-out. I believe one of your claims for how "weak" the Maya warranty is was that you disassembled your SE and took the hard drive out, and shipped it to Maya. You HONESTLY expect them to honor the warranty in a situation like that? It's one thing if they tell you to do that, but for you to do that on your own and expect warranty treatment after the fact is wholly unrealistic. Now, if you find a dealer who DOES offer warranty in situations like that, let us all know. Those of us who aren't afraid of popping open our toasters could appreciate that. --Adam-- -- Adam Frix via cmhGate - Net 226 fido<=>uucp gateway Col, OH UUCP: ...!osu-cis!n8emr!cmhgate!200.2!Adam.Frix INET: Adam.Frix@p2.f200.n226.z1.FIDONET.ORG
