[comp.sys.mac.hardware] A+ Mouse ADB is a great product

folta@tove.umd.edu (Wayne Folta) (03/17/90)

My Apple mouse finally kicked the bucket, so I got the A+ Mouse ADB. I can
highly recommend it!

I use optical mice at work (on my Sun), and I have been impressed by their
reliability and smoothness, but the pictures of the A+ made me hesitate--
they sure don't look as sleek as the Apple mice.

But have no fear! The mouse is made by the same company that makes the Sun
mice. The button has a much firmer feel than the Apple mouse, and the
movement is silky smooth. The mousepad that I got with it (required, of
course, on an optical mouse) is *very* fine-grained, which allows it to be
quite small: 7" x 5.75". I don't know if that is the only pad that ships
with it, as an IBM-compatible friend got one for his PC and the pad was larger,
with half the lines-per-inch.

It cost $80 from MacConnection, for example.

I have an A+ (non-ADB -- identical except for Mac Plus and earlier) optical
mouse for sale for $35 plus couple bucks shipping. I have upgraded to a
Mac II and can't use it anymore... :-( I plan to shell out the bucks
for the ADB A+ mouse when I sell my non-ADB. Anyone interested? It's a
goodie.
