I have a Mac SE (standard, off-the-shelf, etc), and need more speed, floating-point mainly. I've seen several accelerator boards advertised: the RailGun (MacProducts which I've learned to stay away from from reading this list - thank you), something called a Gemini, and Dove computers' board, among others. I learned of these from last month's MacWORLD. Does anyone have any experience with any of these items? I'm also considering going the route of upgrading to the SE/30 (Apple), but this is rather expensive (in the short-run anyway, if these other add-ons aren't very reliable...), and not as fast (16MHz vs 25MHz). But all I'm going on here are claims made by the companies. I would trust an impartial use over a company any day. Any advice would be helpful. Another question is whether I can add on a video monitor, since I lose that slot. The MacProducts RailGun seems nice in that they provide for the MagicView 2-page monitor to plug in to the board. Does anyone out there know anything about the MagicView monitor? Thanks, Charlie crr@shum.huji.ac.il Dr. Charles Rosenberg
