[comp.sys.mac.hardware] Serial Post woes

anderson@csli.Stanford.EDU (Steve Anderson) (03/27/90)

Yesterday I installed a Digidesign Sound Accelerator card in my IIci.
Immediately afterwards, however, I discovered that all of my
applications wishing to use the modem port claim there's something
worng with it: either they can't find it, or it looks like it's busy,
or (with UW) they can't find the RAM serial driver. Otherwise the
machine seems to behave normally, though I haven't given it a thorough
workout. I guess somehow I hosed something when I put the new card in:
the same thing happens when I de-install the DSP card and try again.
Can someone suggest what I've done, how serious it is, and what the
fix is likely to be?

Thanks,
Steve Anderson
