Why are you interested in MIPS? They are just MEANINGLESS instructions per second. A better benchmark is the widely used Dhrystone (integer and string manipulation). If you want to now how fast a machine is in doing math you shold use the Whetstone benchmark or the Linpack benchmark. If anyone has a MacIIfx and wants to know how fast their machine is on the Dhrystone or the Whetstone benchmarks, I can mail them too you. Compiled into a runnable program or just the sources if anyone prefer that. Of course the runnable programs are compiled for the '881 and the '020. I'm also interested in knowing how fast the IIfx is so I hope someone responds and tell us Netlanders how fast iis is. Sigge Ruschkowski Sweden kjr@kkeka1.ericsson.se
